University of Miami To Host BIG EAST Tennis Championships

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – The BIG EAST Conference Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships will be held Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 27 at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on the Coral Gables campus of the University of Miami.

Both the Miami men’s and the Miami women’s teams are the top seeds in their respective brackets.

Both brackets will run simultaneously. Friday at 9 a.m., No. 4 seed Virginia Tech will play No. 5 seed Rutgers on the women’s side followed by No. 3 Boston College vs. No. 6 Syracuse at noon.

The women’s bracket will continue with the winner of Virginia Tech/Rutgers facing No. 1 seed Miami at 9 a.m. Saturday. The winner of the BC/Syracuse contest will play No. 2 seed Notre Dame at noon on Saturday. The championship will be held at noon on Sunday.

On the men’s side, No. 4 seed Rutgers will face No. 5 Boston College at 9 a.m. on Friday and then No. 3 Notre Dame will contend with No. 6 St. John’s at noon.

The winner of the former will face No. 1 Miami at 9 a.m. Saturday, while the latter winner will play Virginia Tech at noon. The men’s championship will be held Sunday at 9 a.m.
