Men's Tennis Signs Top Five Player

CORAL GABLES, Fla.- Newly appointed men’s tennis coach Bryan Getz announced the signing of Josh Cohen, one of the top five players in the nation to a national letter of intent for the 2003-04 season.

Cohen (Weston, Fla.) is ranked top five in the nation in boys 18 and under and was the No. 1 player in the nation in boys 16 and under.

“We are very excited to sign someone of Josh’s caliber,” said Getz. “We expect him to have an immediate impact on our program.”

Cohen has participated in the last nine Jr. Grand Slams and has been ranked as high as No. 17 in the world.

He advanced to the round of 16 at the Jr. U.S. Open at the age of 15. Cohen won the International Grass Court Championships and played in the quarterfinal match at the Australian Hard Court Championship.

Cohen also won the Port Washington International Jr. Classic.

Cohen a native of Philadelphia, Pa. moved to Weston, Fla. in 1996. He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Cohen. He will graduate from Laurel Springs in May.
