Mari Toro Advances In The All-American Championships

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-Junior Mari Toro (Miami, Fla.) of the Miami women’s tennis team advances in the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif. after winning two singles matches on Tuesday.

Toro ranked No. 41 in the ITA pre-season polls defeated Amy Trefethen of Kentucky 6-3, 6-3 in her first match of the day.

In her second match of the day Toro rolled past No. 47 Saras Arasu of Duke 6-0, 7-5.

Toro will face No. 29 Courtney Bergman of Harvard on Wednesday.
