Soccer Hosts The Miami Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The University of Miami women’s soccer team returns to action hosting the Miami Invitational, Sept. 13 & 15 at Cobb Stadium on the UM campus.
Florida State (2-1-2) and Virginia Tech (0-3-1) meet in the first match of the tournament at 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, followed by the Hurricanes (3-2-0) versus UNC-Charlotte (3-0-0) at 7 p.m.
Play continues Sunday with FSU facing UNC-Charlotte at Noon, followed by Miami opening BIG EAST action with the Hokies.
The Hurricanes are coming off of a, 2-1, loss to the Seminoles Wednesday night.
Charlotte is undefeated coming off of a, 3-1, win over VT.
Sophomore Britney Butcher (Bothell, Wash.) and freshman Lindsey Yach (Carrollton, Texas) lead the Miami offense. The two combined have scored 11 of UM’s 14 goals this season.
