Todd Widom prepares for NCAA Championship
CORAL GABLES, Fla.– University of Miami’s 33rd-ranked Todd Widom will begin first-round play in the NCAA Tennis Championships Wednesday at 10 a.m. against Penn State’s No. 76 Jamie Gresh at the Texas A&M Tennis Center in College Station, Texas.
The freshman has compiled a 26-6 mark overall and a 17-4 dual match record at No. 1 singles for the Hurricanes.
Widom was named Most Outstanding Performer at the BIG EAST Tennis Championships after recording a win over No. 14 Javier Taborga of Notre Dame in the title match.
The winner of the first round will face the winner of the match between Duke’s Phillip King and Harvard’s Jonathan Chu.
