No. 18 Men's Tennis Beats No. 17 South Alabama

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-Junior Andrew Golub won in three sets at No. 3 singles to give the No. 18 Miami men’s tennis team the, 4-3, upset victory over No. 17 South Alabama Sunday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
Golub defeated Zlatko Stupavsky, 7-6 (1), 3-6, 6-3, to clinch the match.
The Hurricanes (1-1) lost the doubles point as South Alabama (0-2) won at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Miami went down 3-0 in the match after falling at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
Tomas Smid put the Hurricanes back into the match with a, 6-3, 6-4, win over Christian Thall at No. 2 singles.
Jose Lieberman won at No. 4 singles in three sets over Clinton Jacobs, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, while No. 40 Todd Widom tied the match 3-3 with a, 6-4, 6-7 (2), 6-2, win over Vincent Baudat at No. 1 singles.
Golub improves to 2-0 in dual match play with the win over Stupavsky.
The Hurricanes are back in action Saturday Feb. 9 travelling to face No. 54 Florida State.
