No. 16 Men's Tennis Downs No. 35 Rice, 4-3

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–The No. 16-ranked Miami men’s tennis team closed out the regular season with a 4-3 win over No. 35 Rice Saturday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
Miami improves to 17-3 on the season, while Rice falls to 17-4.
The Hurricanes won the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Peter Hoffman and Tomas Smid teamed up on court No. 1 downing Richard Barker and Vuk Rajevac 9-7. Andrew Golub and Johan Lindqvist defeated Cody Jackson and William Barker 8-4 at the No. 3 spot.
The three UM seniors, Michael Lang, Lindqvist and Hoffman won their final matches as Hurricanes to put Miami on top 4-3.
No. 70 Lang defeated R. Barker 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, while Lindqvist downed W. Barker 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. Hoffman beat Rajevac in straight sets on court No. 4 6-3, 7-5.
Miami returns to action for the BIG EAST Tennis Championships, April 20-22, at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center in Coral Gables.
