Arpad Adry Named June, 2000 Academic All-Star

Arpad Odry, a senior on the men’s tennis team, recently completed his MBA after receiving his bachelor’s of science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry in 1998. Odry, a former BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Star, recorded a grade point average of 4.0 in the University’s MBA program. Aside from his conference academic honors, Odry has also been named a GTE District III First-Team Academic All-American as well.

Originally from Frankfurt, Germany, Odry moved with his family to Miami and attended nearby St. Stephen’s School prior to enrolling at Miami. As a four-year member of the varsity men’s tennis team, Odry shored up the Hurricanes singles and doubles line-ups. He has logged matches at each singles position (1-6) during his career, as well as Nos. 1-3 doubles. UM three BIG EAST titles and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in his last two seasons.
