Men's Tennis Completes Day One Of The Florida Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–Johan Lindqvist and Joel Berman lead the University of Miami men’s tennis team Friday during the first day of the Gator Invitational at Florida’s Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis Complex.
Miami won three of 11 matches with the Gators, including two singles matches and one doubles match.
Throughout the weekend, UF, Miami, Auburn and South Florida will face off in a dual-match format however the event will only be individually scored. The tournament also uses experimental ITA rules, which call for a tiebreaker when a doubles pro-set reaches 7-all or a singles set reaches 5-all.
Lindqvist defeated Jeremy Wurtzman 6-2, 6-5 at #4 singles, while Berman knocked off Trey Johnson 3-6, 6-5, 6-2 at # 7 singles.
Michael Myles and Lindqvist paired together for doubles and downed Johnson and West Nott 8-3.
On Saturday Miami will face Auburn at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Miami will play USF at 9 a.m.
