Miami Completes Thursday Workout As FSU Game Looms

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The Miami Hurricanes (No. 7 AP/No. 8 ESPN/USA Today) completed their third day of intense work with a two-hour practice Thursday afternoon in preparation for their upcoming clash with top-ranked Florida State (No. 1 AP/No. 2 ESPN/USA Today). The Hurricanes meet the Seminoles Saturday at Noon at the Orange Bowl before a sellout crowd and a national television audience (CBS).

“It was a good day to end the week (of full speed practices),” said UM head coach Butch Davis. “We caught up the last two days with the good weather. The guys are anxious and ready to play. They can feel the excitement and the team recognizes the opportunity and the challenge we face.”

the injury front, cornerback Leonard Myers returned to practice, continuing his recovery from a foot injury suffered against Rutgers. Davis pronounced Myers’ prognosis for Saturday’s game as a game-time decision. “You never know with injuries, but he was able to do a little today,” Davis said.

The Hurricanes continue practice Friday at 4 p.m. at Greentree. All practices are closed to the public. Saturday’s game against Florida State is sold out. SR-836 Toll Plaza Reconstruction Project

The eastbound SR-836 exit ramp to NW 17th Avenue southbound will be opened to Orange Bowl traffic on Saturday, October 7 for the University of Miami football game against Florida State, the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority announced.
