Men's Tennis Heads North to Florida State

CORAL GABLES, FL – The University of Miami men’s tennis team (7-0) travels to Florida State (8-1) to take on the Seminoles on Sunday, February 27 at noon.

UM is off to one of the best starts in school history, boasting a 7-0 record. The Hurricanes just recently defeated then No. 29 Notre Dame, 5-2, in South Bend, Ind. last week. The Hurricanes took a 1-0 lead after doubles with wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles. Michael Lang and Jose Lieberman clinched the doubles point with a 9-8 (7-4) win at No. 2 doubles over Trent Miller and Ryan Sachire after saving two sets points while serving at 6-7.

The Irish briefly led 2-1 before the Hurricanes won in straight sets at Nos. 2, 3 and 4 singles in that order as Johan Lindqvist, Peter Hoffman and Michael Lang helped clinch the win. Jose Lieberman defeated Aaron Talarico in three sets (6-3, 2-6, 7-5).

Lindqvist owns a 7-0 record playing predominantly at the No. 3 spot while Lang is also 7-0, playing at the four and five slot.
