Men's Tennis Upsets Notre Dame

The 32nd-ranked University of Miami men’s tennis team improved to 7-0 on the season after handing No. 29 Notre Dame (5-3) a 5-2 loss on Sunday at the Eck Tennis Pavilion on the Notre Dame campus.

The Hurricanes took a 1-0 lead after doubles with wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles. Mike Lang and Jose Lieberman clinched the doubles point with a 9-8 (7-4) win at No. 2 doubles over Trent Miller and Ryan Sachire after saving two sets points while serving at 6-7.

The Irish briefly led 2-1 before the Hurricanes won in straight sets at Nos. 2, 3 and 4 singles in that order as Johan Lindqvist, Peter Hoffman and Michael Lang helped clinch the win. Jose Lieberman defeated Aaron Talarico in three sets (6-3, 2-6, 7-5).
