Miami Takes On South Alabama

CORAL GABLES, FL – The University of Miami women’s tennis team (3-0) hosts South Alabama (2-1) on Sunday, February 13 at 9:30 a.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on the Coral Gables campus.

Most recently, the Hurricanes defeated Barry University. UM won five of the six singles matches and swept all three doubles matches in route to their 8-1 victory.

Against Barry, UM received singles victories from senior captain Meredith Laughlin (Miami, FL), senior Eva Jimenez (Madrid, Spain), junior Alanna Broderick (St. Andrew, Jamacia), junior Katia Bogomolova (Moscow, Russia), and sophomore Marcy Hora (Delray Beach, FL). The doubles teams of Hora/ freshman Igne deVillers (Capetown, South Africa), Bogomolova/Broderick, and Laughlin/freshman Lauren Scaglione (Seminole, FL) all recorded victories. The women’s team has yet to lose a doubles match this year.
