Hurricanes Ranked No. 10 In The Southeast

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Following a 1-1 record on its most recent roadtrip to the Northeast, the University of Miami women’s soccer team (6-3, 1-1BIG EAST) slid to No. 10 in both the NSCAA and Soccer Buzz weekly regionalrankings.

Miami, which was rated No. 8 by Soccer Buzz and No. 9 by the NSCAA,defeated Providence, 2-0, in both schools 1999 conference opener at GlayField. The match was also the Hurricanes first in BIG EAST play, as theycompeted as an independent in 1998.

The Hurricanes then visited then-No. 18 Boston College at the NewtonCampus Soccer Field in Chestnut Hill, MA. The Eagles defeated UM, 3-0, inthe Hurricanes first-ever match against a nationally ranked opponent.

Miami returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 29 against LynnUniversity at 7 p.m at Cobb Stadium on the UM campus.
