Miami Football Continues Preparation For Penn State

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The eighth ranked University of Miami footballteam conducted a two-hour workout in full pads on Thursday afternoon at theGreentree Practice Facility. With the practice, the Hurricanes continuedpreparation for their matchup with No. 3 Penn State at the Orange Bowl onSaturday at 3:30 p.m.

Following the practice, Head Coach Butch Davis spoke of how theteam’s preparation for Penn State neared completion with Thursday’s workout.

“Just polish today,” said Davis. “We put the finishing touches to someextent on the physical work today. Obviously, I still think there’s a lotto be accomplished mentally. We’ll continue to watch film and get the kidsin the right frame of mind mentally.”

Sophomore running back Najeh Davenport (right knee) is expected to miss theyear. There were no new injuries to report.

The Hurricanes will complete their week’s preparation with a closedwalk-through on Friday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Facility.Less than 2,000 obstructed view reserved seats remain for Saturday’s game.Call 1-800-GO-CANES for ticket information.

MIAMI-PENN STATE ON WQAM: Saturday’s Miami-Penn State game will be broadcastthis Saturday on WQAM 560-AM with the Hurricane Game Day pre-game showbeginning at 1:30 p.m. The Florida Marlins-Arizona Diamondbacks game, alsoon Saturday, will be aired on WSRF 1580-AM, instead of WQAM.
