VALLVERDU NAMED MUSCLE MILK STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Coral Gables, Fla (www.hurricanesports.com) – Daniel Vallverdu, who won three singles matches and paired with Carl Sundberg to win two doubles contests last week has been named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the period January 28-February 3.

Vallverdu, a junior from Valencia, Venezuela, won his singles and doubles matches as the Hurricanes defeated the Number 13 ranked Florida Gators 4-3 on January 29. He also claimed a victory in singles at number 3 Ohio State February 1 as Miami was defeated 5-2. Ranked seventh in the nation in singles, Vallverdu teamed with Sundberg to win their doubles match at Kentucky February 3. He also won his singles match in that contest as the Hurricanes were victorious against the Wildcats by a 4-3 score.
