MCCLINTON NAMED MUSCLE MILK STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Coral Gables, Fla (www.hurricanesports.com) – Junior guard Jack McClinton, who hit three three-point shots in the final minutes of the Hurricanes 75-72 win over the 25th ranked Clemson Tigers Sunday, has been named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the period January 21-27. The win improved Miami’s record to 15-4 overall and 2-3 in the ACC.

Trailing 63-57 with 3:14 to go in the game, McClinton hit a three from the top of the key with 2:28 to play to make the score 63-60. After a miss by the Tigers, McClinton hit another three-point shot to tie the game at 63 with 1:28 left in the contest. Then after a Clemson dunk by James Mays, the Baltimore native hit his third consecutive three-pointer to give the Hurricanes at 66-65 lead with a little over one minute to play.
