Hurricanes Welcome USF to Cobb Stadium Friday Night

Sept. 14, 2006

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – In its final non-conference tune-up, Miami will play host to in-state rival South Florida Friday evening at Cobb Stadium beginning at 7:30 p.m.

After a week since suffering their first loss of the season – a double overtime heartbreaker to FAU last Friday – the Hurricanes take to the Golden Bulls with an overall record of 5-1. UM’s 5-1 start is tied with the 2001 squad for the best record through six games in school history.

Offensively, Miami has benefited from seven different goal scorers this season led by sophomore midfielder Paulelette Ricks-Chambers’ three. All three of Ricks-Chambers’ goals this season have come over the last three matches.

Junior forward Rebecca Tweneboah is second on the UM roster with two goals on the year.

The Bulls, coming off a four-day break and their first loss of the season as well, head to Coral Gables with an overall record of 4-1-1.

Junior Lindsay Brauer has been USF’s main offensive threat, scoring a total of seven goals with three assists in six matches.

Led by senior keeper Casey Garrett, the Bulls have allowed just three goals on the year while posting three shutouts.

Tickets are just $5 dollars for adults and $3 dollars for children and senior citizens. To purchase tickets or additional information, please contact the Hurricane Ticket Office online at hurricanesports.com or call 1-800-GO-CANES.
