Canes CFP Central
The Miami Hurricanes defeated second-ranked and defending national champion Ohio State 24-14 in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.
The Canes’ defense forced two turnovers – including a pick six by cornerback Keionte Scott – racked up five sacks and held the Buckeyes to just 45 rushing yards. Meanwhile, the offense put together two impressive touchdown drives, including a game-sealing march late in the fourth quarter.

Miami advanced to the CFP semifinals against No. 6 Ole Miss at the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz., on January 8. This the first meeting between the Canes and Rebels since 1951.
