Katelyn Smith is in her first year with the Miami Hurricanes as the program’s Director of Soccer Operations under Head Coach Tom Anagnost. Smith, who played four years of Division I soccer, returns to Miami after serving as an intern with the program in the fall of 2011. The Newburgh, Ind. native enjoyed a four-year career on the Division I level as a student-athlete at the University of Evansville, where she earned her B.S. in Business Administration while playing soccer. Shortly thereafter, Smith completed coursework towards her masters degree in Sport Management at Indiana State. Smith has had extensive research as a coach on the youth levels, including her most recent stint as the U-12 Girls’ Head Coach at the Southwest Indiana Soccer Association. Smith was a coach at the U-9 and U-11 level with the nearby Key Biscayne Soccer Club, and also coached the Evansville Soccer Club teams as a Head Coach of the U-9 Girls’ team and as an assistant coach of the U-12 Girls’ team.
