Four Hurricanes, 4x400 Relay Qualify for NCAA Championships
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Miami track and field program saw four student-athletes and the 4×400 relay qualify for the NCAA Championships as the Hurricanes closed out the NCAA East Preliminaries on Saturday at the UK Track & Field Complex.
Calea Jackson opened the day with a stellar performance in the discus, setting the school’s second-longest throw with a distance of 58.26m to qualify for the NCAA Championships, the first of her career.
Magadaline Campo punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships in the high jump as the junior cleared 1.79m.
In the 400m hurdles, Sanaa Hebron qualified for the NCAA Championships for the third time in her career at 55.47.
Freshman Adriana Kruzmane qualified for the championships after registering a mark of 13.23m in the triple jump.
To close out the meet, the 4×400 relay of Serena Tate, Hebron, Gabriella Grissom and Nandy Kihuyu punched their ticket to the championships with a time of 3:30.70.
The four individual qualifiers and relay join Edgar Campre (decathlon), George Franks (men’s 400m) and Deisiane Teixeira (women’s javelin) at the NCAA Outdoor Championships June 10-13 in Eugene, Oregon.
