Hurricanes Add All-MAAC Performer Brent Bland

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami men’s basketball head coach Jai Lucas announced Monday the signing of guard Brent Bland.

Bland is coming off a stellar 2025-26 campaign at Saint Peter’s where he earned All-MAAC First Team honors and was named to the All-Met Division I Third Team. He led the Peacocks in scoring (13.9 ppg), steals (59), and 3-pointers made (79).

“We are excited to welcome Brent to the program,” Lucas said. “He is a tough, experienced guard who has produced at a high level and brings a winning edge to our backcourt. His ability to shoot the ball, defend and create momentum on both ends of the floor will be a great fit for our team.”

The Wheatley Heights, New York, native opened the season with a career performance, scoring a career-high 27 points in the Peacocks’ win over Fairleigh Dickinson. Bland followed it up with a 25-point performance against VCU before dropping 21 against Delaware. Over the three-game stretch, Bland knocked down 17 3-pointers and totaled 15 rebounds and eight steals.

Over his career, Bland has played in 99 games and is averaging 7.1 points with 150 made 3-pointers to go along with 121 steals.
