Miami Shines on Day One of East Coast Relays
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of Miami track and field team set four program top-five marks Friday on day one of the East Coast Relays at Hodges Stadium.
In the men’s 200m, Sean Watkins entered the record books as he clocked the program’s second-fastest time at 20.70, while George Franks bettered his third-fastest time at 20.74.
Jocelyn Pringle improved her second-best mark in the women’s hammer throw with a distance of 63.75m to place second. Evan Pena placed third in the men’s 5000m with a time of 14:34.23, the fourth-fastest time in school history.
Kennedy Sauder won the men’s high jump with a clearance of 2.11m, and Lauren Kirby took third in the women’s shot put with a throw of 15.09m.
