Miami Signs Horizon League Player of the Year DeSean Goode
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami men’s basketball head coach Jai Lucas announced Monday the signing of versatile forward DeSean Goode.
Goode is coming off a stellar sophomore season at Robert Morris in which he was named Horizon League Player of the Year after averaging 15.2 points and 8.7 rebounds while shooting 62.9 percent from the floor and 57.1 percent from beyond the arc.
“We are excited to add DeSean to our program,” Lucas said. “He brings size, toughness and versatility to the frontcourt and is someone that has already proven he can produce at the college level. He rebounds at a high level, plays with physicality and has the kind of skill set that we believe fits well with how we want to play.”
Goode scored a season-high 26 points at Milwaukee shooting 9-of-12 from the field while hauling in eight rebounds. He scored in double figures in 29 games and had 20-or-more points on four occasions.
Prior to RMU, Goode played at IU Indy during his freshman season where he averaged 7.8 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 50.6 percent from the field. He was sixth in the Horizon League in offensive rebounds and 10th in total rebounding.
