Robinson Named ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year for Indoor Track and Field
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami track and field athlete Russell Robinson has been named the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men’s indoor track and field, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Robinson was a key part of the Hurricanes’ success in the jumps category during the recent indoor season. The Windermere, Fla., native was crowned the 2024 NCAA Division I National Champion in the men’s triple jump with a 16.76m leap – earning the third All-American honor of his career and first national championship.
Majoring in Liberal Studies, Robinson carries a 3.80 career GPA. At the conclusion of the 2024 indoor season, the Miami jumper was named the conference’s Excellence Award recipient, an honor that recognizes outstanding graduates from the ACC member institutions. The award is meant to highlight those who embody the student-athlete ideal.
Robinson and the rest of the Hurricanes track and field team will travel to Baton Rouge, La., to compete in the LSU Alumni Gold on April 20.
