Ingraham Breaks Discus School Record on Final Day of Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Miami track and field team completed the 2024 Pepsi Florida Relays Saturday evening at the University of Florida.

Florida State transfer and 2023 ACC outdoor champion Milton Ingraham II took first-place in the men’s discus Saturday afternoon with a school record throw of 60.99m (200 feet, 1 inch). The Miami Gardens native passes Jeff Williams’ 59.86m toss, set in 2022.

Sophomore middle distance runner Gabriella Grissom continues to improve in her signature event, the 800m.

Grissom clocked a final time 2:04.06, which ties 2014’s Thandi Stewart for the second fastest time in outdoor school history. Grissom’s time is a new personal best and was good for an eighth-place finish.

As the sun began to set on James G. Pressley Stadium, the women’s 4x400m team comprised of Kennedy Brace, Makenzy Pierre-Webster, Alyssa Robinson, and Gabriella Grissom, clocked 3:30.23 to claim a third-place finish.

A graduate transfer from Arizona State, Christina Warren earned a new personal best of 13.64 in the 100m hurdles. 45 minutes later, Warren took her talents over to the triple jump, placing sixth out of a field of 28 with 12.85m.

With the Florida Relays behind them, the Hurricanes now shift their focus to the final home meet of the 2024 season, the Hurricane Alumni Invitational, April 5 and 6 at Cobb Stadium.
