Women's Basketball Slotted at No. 24 in USA Today Coaches Poll

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – For the second-straight week the Miami women’s basketball program came in on the USA Today Coaches Poll, being tabbed No. 24 as announced Tuesday, Dec. 19.

With an 8-1 record the Canes are tied for the third-best overall winning percentage in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), while also being just one of two teams in the league to boast seven wins at home.

UM ranks first in the ACC in bench points per game (29.9) and scoring defense (55.3). Miami’s versatility has been a big reason for the Canes’ success, with all 10 Hurricanes averaging at least four points per game and six tallying at least seven points.

Miami opens a three-game home stand with Jackson State tomorrow night at 7 p.m. from the Watsco Center.
