MBB Ranked No. 24 in National Polls

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s basketball team checks in at No. 24 in both the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and USA TODAY Coaches Poll, as announced Monday afternoon.

The Hurricanes fell nine spots in each poll after posting a 1-1 record last week. Miami defeated LIU, 97-49, Wednesday night, but faced a 90-63 setback to Colorado Sunday afternoon at the Barclays Center.

Colorado garnered 116 votes in this week’s AP Poll and is the team receiving the most votes outside the Top 25.

Ninth-ranked North Carolina, No. 13 Clemson, No. 22 Duke an No. 23 Virginia join the Hurricanes in the AP Top 25. All four teams also appear in this week’s Coaches Poll–ninth-ranked North Carolina, No. 11 Clemson, No. 19 Duke and No. 21 Virginia.

Miami returns to the Watsco Center on Saturday, Dec. 16 to host La Salle. Tipoff in Coral Gables is set for 12 p.m. and the game will air on The CW.
