Holmes Competes in High Jump at USA Trials

EUGENE, Ore. – Isaiah Holmes closed out his first season as a Miami Hurricane at the 2021 USA Olympic Team Trials.

Holmes finished tied for 17th at the trials at Hayward Field clearing 2.14m on his final attempt to conclude the 2021 season.

The Roseville, Calif., native made the most out of his first year in Coral Gables claiming Miami’s program record in the men’s high jump on his new home track at 2.21m.

Holmes’ season was highlighted by a third-place finish at the ACC Outdoor Championships and reached the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the first time in his career. Holmes finished 19th at NCAAs with a mark of 2.10m.

Michelle Atherley will be the final Cane to compete for a spot on Team USA on Saturday, June 26th in the heptathlon.
