Miller, Vasiljevic Named to All-ACC Academic Team
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Two members of the University of Miami men’s basketball team were selected to the All-ACC Academic Team, as announced Friday morning by the league office.
Redshirt junior center Rodney Miller, Jr., and senior Dejan Vasiljevic both claimed the honor for their success on the hardwood and in the classroom.
Miller has started 26 outings this season, tallying 7.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 58.1 percent from the floor. He has scored in double figures 10 times and posted a 13-point, 13-rebound double-double at eighth-ranked Duke.
A native of Laurelton, N.Y., Miller is studying sport administration at Miami and owns a 3.175 GPA. He has garnered Book Busters Club (3.0 GPA) status three times and made the Dean’s List (3.5 GPA) in the 2019 spring semester.
The lone Hurricane to start all 29 contests this year, Vasiljevic is averaging 12.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, the former second-best on the team and the latter fourth-best. The Melbourne, Australia, native has made 262 3-pointers in his career, third-most in Miami history and tied for No. 20 on the ACC’s all-time leaderboard.
A 2020 ACC postgraduate scholarship recipient and Senior CLASS Award candidate, Vasiljevic graduated from Miami in three years with a degree in management. He is now pursuing a master’s degree in sport administration and sports a 3.435 GPA.
This is the second time in three years at least two Hurricanes garnered All-ACC Academic Team recognition, as Vasiljevic joined Chris Lykes and Lonnie Walker IV on the 2017-18 list.
Miller, Vasiljevic and the Hurricanes conclude the 2019-20 regular season Saturday at 4 p.m. when they host Syracuse at the Watsco Center, live on ACC Network.
