Miami is coming off a 74-60 victory over Florida Atlantic Friday night at the Watsco Center, its first win of the season. Junior guard Chris Lykes led the team in scoring for the second time in as many contests this year, tallying a game-high 15 points, while freshman guard Harlond Beverly (14) and redshirt junior center Rodney Miller, Jr., (12) both had career highs. Redshirt junior forward Sam Waardenburg narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with nine points and a career-high 11 rebounds.

UCF is 1-0 on the season after edging Prairie View A&M Friday night, 73-69, in Orlando, behind 16 points from redshirt senior guard Dazon Ingram. The Knights went 24-9 (13-5 AAC) last year and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

After losing six of its top seven scorers, including each of its top three, UCF was picked ninth in the AAC preseason poll. Redshirt junior forward Collin Smith is the team’s returning leader in minutes (22.1), points (8.0), rebounds (5.2), assists (1.5) and blocks (0.3) per game.

Following its outing against UCF, Miami will return home to host Quinnipiac Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Watsco Center, live on ACC Network Extra.
