W. Tennis Returns Home to Face Louisville
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team will open its final homestand of the regular season Thursday afternoon.
No. 25 Miami (14-6, 7-5 ACC) is set to host Louisville at 1 p.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. The match will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra HERE, while live stats can be found HERE.
The first 50 fans in attendance Thursday will receive portable charger bricks at the marketing table by the front entrance.
The Hurricanes enter their second-to-last match of the regular season with one ranked singles player in junior Estela Perez-Somarriba, who places second nationally. The Madrid native has held that spot for over a month and it is the best mark by a Miami player in 12 years.
In doubles, freshman Daevenia Achong and senior Daniella Roldan check in at No. 20 in the Oracle/ITA national rankings.
Miami sports a 4-0 all-time record against Louisville with just a 1-0 ledger in Coral Gables. The first meeting between the two sides came in 2015 and the Hurricanes have outscored the Cardinals by 18 points, 23-5.
Louisville heads into Thursday’s match at 10-12 (2-10 ACC) on the season after losing its last nine matches. The Cardinals do not have any ranked singles players or doubles pairs.
After squaring off with Louisville, Miami will conclude the regular season Saturday at noon against No. 19 Virginia on senior day at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
