This week we get to know why Chauncy Smart chose the University of Miami and what set it apart from other schools.

Q&A: 
 
Q: What about Miami stood out to you during the recruiting process? 
A: What stood out to me the most about Miami was that it’s like family here. It’s a small school and it’s not like other schools. They care about you and take their education serious.                   
 
Q: What is the main reason you chose to attend Miami? 
A: The main reason I chose Miami was because it’s closer to home and second, it’s like a family here.                        
 
Q: What’s is your favorite thing about Miami?  
A: My favorite thing about Miami is the weather.  
 
Q: What are your goals for this year?
A: My goals for this season is to run every race like it’s my last and to run a perfect race every time. 
 
Q: What has been the biggest adjustment in terms of training and in terms of campus/social life? 
A: My biggest adjustment is fall training because I’ve never done fall training or went through it because I was always doing football around this time. 
 
Q: If you were not running cross country/track for the U, what sport would you play?
A: If I wasn’t running track I would play football. 
 
Q: What is your favorite food? What food do you not like at all? 
A: My favorite food is lasagna and I don’t like sushi. 
 
Q: What is your all-time favorite movie? TV show? 
A: All-time favorite move is Pearl Harbor.  
 
Q: What was your most embarrassing “freshman” moment?
A:My most embarrassing freshman moment was coming to weights in the wrong weight room colors. 
 
Q: What do you think of the dining halls? 
A: I love the dining food.
