Q&A:
Q: What about Miami stood out to you during the recruiting process?
A: Coach Young came out to my hometown to watch me train and then we had lunch. I really got to know him when he visited. I would say that my official visit with Miami was my absolute favorite.

Q: What is the main reason you chose to attend Miami?
A: I love the campus and the throwing areas. I also got a really good vibe from Coach Young.  He’s amazing. I couldn’t see myself being coached by anyone else at the collegiate level.

Q: What’s is your favorite thing about Miami?
A: My favorite thing about Miami is the environment and how welcoming everyone is.

Q: When you were practicing with the team, what were some of the differences you noticed compared to high school practice?
A: It is a bit harder than high school training. I love working hard in the weight room and in the rings. I have learned a lot so far about my events and how to do certain lifts.

Q: What are your goals for this year?
A: Win ACCs and go to the NCAAs.

Q: What has been the biggest adjustment in terms of training and in terms of campus/social life?
A: My biggest adjustment has been living alone and not having my mom to rely on. I’ve become pretty independent and I’m not afraid to do things on my own. I’ve grown as a person so far and I’m learning to make new friends, be open to new things and new people.

Q: If you were not running cross country/track for the U, what sport would you play?
A: I would play volleyball.

Q: What is your favorite food? What food do you not like at all?
A: My favorite food is chicken pesto pasta and calamari. I don’t like pickles at all.

Q: What is your all-time favorite movie? TV show?
A: My all-time favorite movie is Rent. My favorite shows are The Office and Grey’s Anatomy.

Q: What was your most embarrassing “freshman” moment?
A: My most embarrassing freshman moment was walking to the wrong class and the professor stopped teaching. I realized I was in the wrong class after a few minutes and then I got up to leave and the professor thought I was being rude.

Q: What do you think of your classes so far?
A: I think my classes are pretty good. They’re pretty tough, but not too hard.
