Miami heads to Gainesville with the reigning ACC Men’s Outdoor Performer of the Week, as Kevin Arreaga earned the award after a record-setting performance in the men’s hammer throw at the Power 5 Trailblazer Challenge last weekend. Other Canes to watch on the men’s side include sprinters Myles Valentine and Isaiah Taylor, distance runners Sean Grossman and Nathan Kuck, hurdler McKinly Brown, jumpers Hasani Knight and Tristan Schultheis and throwers Gian Piero Ragonesi and Andreas Christodoulou.

On the women’s side, the Hurricanes are looking to make some noise in the sprints, hurdles and relays. Sprinters Alfreda Steele, Symone Mason and Kristina Knott will lead Miami in the short sprints, while freshman Kayla Johnson will look to make some noise in the women’s 800m. Tiara McMinn and Michelle Atherley are contenders in the 100m hurdles, while McMinn, Anna Runia and Samamtha Gonzalez give Miami a strong trio in the 400m hurdles. The Hurricanes also have strong teams set to race in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. Miami’s women will also look to shine in the throws, as Zakiya Rashid and Debbie Ajagbe will look to build off strong performances at the Power 5 Trailblazer Challenge.

Following this weekend’s action, the Hurricanes will return home for consecutive meets at Cobb Stadium. Miami will host the Hurricane Alumni Invitational on April 6-7 and the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational on April 14.
