2018 All-ACC Academic Men’s Basketball Team

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Three Miami student-athletes were named to the 2018 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men’s Basketball team, as announced Wednesday by Commissioner John Swofford. Chris Lykes, Dejan Vasiljevic and Lonnie Walker IV each earned the distinction. It marks the first All-ACC Academic Team honors for each member of the trio.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during his academic career.

This matches the most ACC All-Academic Team honorees that Miami has had in one season. UM also recorded three selections during the 2005-06 season.

A management major from Melbourne, Australia, Vasiljevic has played in 29 games with 20 starts this season and is averaging 8.9 points per game. He leads the team in 3-point field goals with 60 and is ranks ninth in the ACC in 3-point field goal percentage at 39.7 percent.

A native of Reading, Pa., Walker is averaging 11.6 points per game in 29 games this season, including 15 starts. He has stepped up in conference play, averaging a team-high 13.7 points per game. Walker has been named the ACC Rookie of the Week on three occasions this season. He has not yet declared a major at Miami.

Miami returns home Saturday (March 3) to battle Virginia Tech in a noon contest that serves as the regular-season finale. Prior to the game, Miami will conduct Senior Day ceremonies. Fans wishing to attend home Miami basketball games this season are encouraged to use StubHub, the official secondary ticket market for Miami Athletics, to purchase single-game tickets, as season tickets are sold out.
