The Series: Miami vs. Florida State
Miami is 27-12 all-time at home against Florida State, including 4-1 at home under Coach L.
The Hurricanes have won their last three matchups and seven of the last 10 games overall with the Seminoles.
Davon Reed combined for 26 points and eight rebounds in his two games against Florida State last season.
In 1959, Miami’s Harry Manushaw grabbed a remarkable 27 rebounds in a game against Florida State. That is just two boards shy of Miami’s all-time record for rebounds in a game, which is held by Rick Barry’s 29 vs. Oklahoma City in 1965. Rusty Parker pulled down 25 rebounds against FSU in 1968, good enough for sixth-most (tie) in Miami’s record book.
The Hurricanes are looking to win four straight games against Florida State for the first time since the two teams began playing in 1950-51.
Miami is 1-3 overall against Florida State when the Seminoles are ranked in the AP Poll, and 1-2 under Coach L when FSU is ranked, all of which were in the 2011-12 season. When the Canes are in the top 25, UM is 5-0 against FSU. The teams have never played a game in which both schools are ranked.
In just his sixth season at UM, Coach L is 132-63 (.677) with a 4-2 mark in two NCAA Tournament trips, and 5-2 record in two NIT appearances. In 10 seasons as the head coach at Miami from 1990-00, Leonard Hamilton was 144-147 (.495), and posted a 3-3 mark in three NCAA Tournaments, as well as a 0-2 record in a pair of NIT appearances.
