CORAL GABLES, Fla. The University of Miami women’s tennis team is No. 10 in the country in the final Oracle/ITA rankings of the 2016 season, as announced Wednesday afternoon.

The Hurricanes were in the top 10 of the rankings in nine of the last 10 releases of the spring campaign, including each of the final eight. Miami was in the top 13 for all but one week of the 2016 season.

This marks the 13th year in a row Miami has ended the season in the top 15 of the national rankings. In addition, it is the eighthtime in the last 11 years head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews has guided the Hurricanes to a top-10 finish.

Miami went 21-6 (12-2 ACC) in 2016, the 11th time in the past 13 seasons it has won 20-plus matches. Yaroshuk-Tews’ team also advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Team Championship for the 11th consecutive year.

The Hurricanes posted nine wins over teams that ended the year in the top-30, including six against top-20 finishers that reached the NCAA Team Championship Sweet 16. Among that group are three wins over NCAA quarterfinalists, with one coming against national runner-up Oklahoma State.

Miami, which earned 17 wins over teams in the final rankings, is the second-highest-ranked ACC school on the list. Seven ACC teams are in the top 30, including five in the top 20.

The final action of the spring for the Hurricanes will come in the NCAA Singles Championship in Tulsa, Okla. Sophomore Sinead Lohan and senior Stephanie Wagner, seeded eighth and ninth, respectively, are Miami’s representatives in the field.
