McClellan Invited to NBA Combine

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami guard Sheldon McClellan is one of nearly 70 athletes to be invited to the 2016 NBA Combine in Chicago, May 11-15.

Follow McClellan at the Combine on television Thursday and Friday on ESPN2 from 3-7 p.m., Saturday 1-4 p.m. on NBA TV and Sunday from 9 p.m. to midnight on NBA TV. Also follow along on Twitter at @NBADraft.

The native of Houston averaged 16.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steals in 32.9 minutes per game for the Hurricanes last season. In 35 games played, he knocked down 50.4 percent of his shots from the field and led Miami to the NCAA Sweet 16.

This season McClellan was the seventh-most efficient offensive player in the nation among players with 20 percent-or-more possessions used, according to KenPom.com. He is also the third most efficient player in the ACC overall, and No. 26 in the nation.

McClellan was 17th in the ACC (league games only) in 2-point field goal percentage (54.6), ninth in true shooting percentage (60.7) and 10th in free throw percentage (83.5). He was fourth in the ACC in turnover rate (9.6).

Overall, McClellan hit 56.8 percent of his shots from two, 40.6 percent from three and 83.8 percent at the line, adding up to 181.2, above the prestigious 180 mark.
