Crowley Wins Israel F13 Futures Doubles

Former University of Miami men’s tennis player Keith Crowley won his seventh professional doubles title last week, winning the Israel F13 ITF Futures event at the Tennis Club Kfar Maccabiah in Tel Aviv, Israel.

The native of South Africa paired up with American Max Schnur to win four matches in the 16-team event.

The duo first defeated Israel’s Tomer Gavish and Daniel Osadchy, 6-2, 6-2, then took down another Israeli pair, Yannai Barkai and Motvey Radionov, 6-3, 6-3. In the semifinals, Crowley and Schnur downed the Hungarian doubles pair of Gabor Borsos and Adam Kellner, 7-6(2), 6-2 to move into the final match on Oct. 17. In the finals, top seeded Crowley and Schnur defeated the third-seeded Americans Eric James Johnson and John Lamble, 6-7(1) 6-3 [10-3].

Crowley, who is currently ranked No. 337 in ITF doubles, has won three Futures doubles titles this season, this Israel F13, and the Mexico F4 and USA F13 with Hans Hach of Mexico. Crowley’s other wins include Senegal F1 in 2014, USA F22 and India F8 in 2013 and Zimbabwe F1 in 2012.

Crowley played for Miami from 2007-11, recording a 60-44 singles record, ranking No. 23 in Miami history. He graduated in May 2011 with a degree in business.
