Ian Kerr Signs NLI with @MiamiTrack
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami track and field program added a seventh future Cane to its 2014 signing class.
Ian Kerr signed a National Letter of Intent with the Hurricanes on Monday, becoming the newest member of the Miami track and field program.
“I am very excited about our men’s recruiting class,” Miami director of track and field/cross country Amy Deem said. “I think Ian is the final addition to a strong 2014 class. He will bring additional help in the sprints area and allow us to continue to build our men’s program.“
Kerr, who attended Queens College in Nassau, Bahamas, is a sprinter that has personal-bests of 10.61 seconds in the 100m and 20.91 seconds in the 200m. He was the 2014 BAAA National Champion in the 200m and was the runner-up in the 100m. Kerr also represented the Bahamas at the 2013 IAAF World Youth Championships.
“Being from the Bahamas, I think Ian will make a smooth transition to South Florida,” Deem said. “We welcome him to the Hurricane family.”
Kerr joins men’s signees Henri Delauze, Robert Grant and Jaalen Jones, as well as women’s signees Stefani Kerrison, Amy Taintor and Alexandra Wester in the 2014 signing class. All seven signees will join the Hurricanes for the 2014-15 season.
