Tennis Pro Andy Murray at the U
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – British tennis pro, Andy Murray has been practicing at the University of Miami’s Neil Schiff tennis complex this week. Murray is the current holder of the Wimbledon Championships singles title and he is the 2012 Olympic tennis men’s singles champion.
“It’s great to have Andy and Danny back on our courts. Andy is such an inspiration to not only tennis players but all athletes. He has performed so well under pressure and really made a name for himself. To have Danny back is great too. He has really proven himself as a coach by helping Andy in his accomplishments,” said head coach Rincon of what it’s like having a pro work out at Miami.
Daniel Vallverdu, a former Hurricane who played tennis from 2005-09, is Murray’s hitting partner and coach. Daniel has been working out with Murray as he rehabs his lower back after surgery in September. Vallverdu’s sister is Laura Vallverdu, current assistant coach for the women’s tennis team.
