Canes Hoops Ranked Top 10 in Latest Polls

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – TheUniversity of Miami men’s basketball team still ranks among the Top 10 in thecountry.

The Canes were ranked No. 9 in the Associated Press Top 25and No. 10 in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll. Both polls were released Mondayafternoon.

Miami drops three spots in each poll after suffering a 71-69loss at the buzzer against Georgia Tech on Mar. 6. The Hurricanes finished theweek strong, beating Clemson 62-49 on Mar. 9. The victory gave Miami theirfirst ACC regular season title in program history.

The Hurricanes, who finished the regular season 24-6, travel to Greensboro, N.C., toplay in the ACC tournament this weekend. Miami, who went 15-3 in league play,earned the top seed and a first round bye in the tournament. The Canes arescheduled to play Friday at noon against the winner of Thursday’s matchupbetween No. 9 Georgia Tech and No. 8 Boston College.
