Larkin Tabbed ACC Player of the Week
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami point guard Shane Larkin has earned ACC Player of the Week honors after leading the Canes to a pair of conference road wins against Virginia Tech and No. 19 NC State.
The sophomore averaged 19.0 points, 4.0 assists, 4.0 steals, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 38.5 minutes per game for the No. 14/15 Miami Hurricanes. Larkin hit 60.9 percent (14-23) from the field and hit 7-15 (46.7%) from distance in his two outings.
At Virginia Tech, Larkin had 25 points, hitting a career-high five 3-pointers. At 5-11, Larkin used his 43-inch vertical to block back-to-back Hokie shots, his first-ever game with a pair of swats. The sophomore played all 40 minutes for Miami, tallying a trio of rebounds, assists and steals.
Against No. 19/19 NC State, Larkin notched five steals and five assists while pulling down three rebounds. He recorded 13 points, hitting 55.6 percent from the field, including a pair of 3-pointers.
