CORAL GABLES, Fla. –The University of Miami women’s basketballteam (4-2, 2-0 BIG EAST) looks to keep its 13-game home winning streakalive when Hampton (2-3, 0-MEAC) travels to Coral Gables fora 7 p.m.first-time meeting with the Hurricanes on Saturday, December 12 attheKnight Sports Complex.

The Hurricanes, who defeatedBIG EAST-rival Syracuse, 68-52, onDecember 8, are led by recent BIG EAST Player of the Week selectionKymHope (Hollywood/McArthur). Hope had a stellar week of basketballaveraging 20.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in UM wins over Coppin State(97-68) and Boston College. She tallied her third double-doubleof theseason with 11 points and 10 rebounds against the Orangewomen.

In the win over Syracuse,Shannon Drury scored 17 of her career19 points in the first half as UM rolled to a 32-15 halftime lead.Inthe second half, it was Cassaundra Wimes who stood out. The seniorfromMiami Central High School finished the game also with 19 points.
