Quotes in Reaction to the Verdict in the Marlin Barnes case
Head Coach Butch Davis:
The most important thing, hopefully, is that it will give
(Marlin’s mother) Charlie Mae and the family the opportunity for closure
and possibly a little bit of peace in their lives for the first timein
a long time. It’s good that justice was served.
Athletic Director Paul Dee:
The families of these twofine people (Marlin Barnes and
Timwanika Lumpkins) will be able to take some degree of comfort fromthe
fact that the solution was found and the prosecution was made.
Hopefully they can find solace.
