INDIANAPOLIS – University of Texas freshman Troy Dumais endedthe University of Miami’s three-year hold on the 3-meter diving title Fridayat the 1999 Men’s NCAA Swimming & Diving Championship in Indianapolis,IN.

Dumais set a NCAA meet record with a score of 688.70 to defeatUM All-American and 1-meter diving champion Rio Ramirez (666.95).Hurricane freshmen Imre Lengyel (634.90) and Stefan Ahrens (628.05) roundedout the third and fourth places respectively.

Miami goes into the final round of action on Saturday in ninthplace with 95 points. Auburn remains in the lead (341.5) with Stanford(297.3), Texas (289.5), Arizona (206) and Southern California (206) roundingout the top five.
