Lamar Miller Taken in Fourth Round of NFL Draft

CORAL GABLES, Fla.—Lamar Miller has been drafted to the Miami Dolphins, the 17th Cane to go to the Dolphins in school history and the 29th running back drafted in UM history.
The Miami native is the third Cane off the board as the second pick of the fourth round and 97th overall. Miller joins Olivier Vernon (Miami) and Sean Spence (Pittsburgh) taken through four rounds of the 2012 NFL Draft.
Miller is the first Canes running back drafted since Frank Gore went in the third round to San Francisco in 2005.
The All-ACC selection was the Canes feature back in 2011, recording the third-best single-season total in program history with 1,272 rushing yards. Miller also finished second in the ACC with an average of 106 rushing yards per game. He completed his Miami career with 1,918 rushing yards on 335 carries in 23 contests. He averaged 5.7 yards per carry and scored 15 touchdowns, while posting an average of 83.4 yards per game.
