NAMPA, Idaho–Senior Devon Hill turned in the best performance of his career to earn the silver medal in the 60-meter hurdles at the NCAA Indoor Championships at Jacksons Indoor Track at Boise State.

“I felt good and I had a clean race,” said Hill. “I am really happy about my time, but I really wanted to win. So close.”

Hill finished one-hundreth of a second behind the winner in 7.55, setting a new personal best, a Jacksons Indoor Track record and a new UM school record. Hill won his heat and had the third-fastest preliminary time (7.60) entering the finals.

“I am very happy for Devon tonight,” said Director of Track and Field and Head Coach Amy Deem. “He has been struggling to put his race together this season and it all came together at the right time. It will be an exciting outdoor season for Devon.”

The Trenton, N.J. native earned his second All-America honor in as many seasons, improving on his third-place finish from a year ago.

The Canes open the outdoor season in Coral Gables, hosting the Hurricane Invitational March 16-17.
