Jacob and Williams Among Top-10 Finishers

BLACKSBURG, Va.–In the last weekend before the NCAA Indoor Championships, two Canes headed to Blacksburg, Va. for the Virginia Tech Last Chance Qualifier meet. Freshman Innocent Jacob and junior Samantha Williams finished in the top 10 in their respective events with hopes of competing in the national championships.

Williams finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.60m (41-04.25). The distance was the best of the season for Williams. Jacob recorded a long jump of 6.86m (22-06.25) for 10th place.

The duo will learn their fate on Monday when the declarations are made.

The qualifying Canes will travel to Boise, Idaho, March 9-10 for the NCAA Championships.
